Did not know that about Iceland - interesting fact! In fact, I sensed a little depression in Iceland's social media voice (half joking, half not - kinda sardonic?) - so maybe it's related! If you can survive, social media just takes time. But they're doing a good job for sure, hopefully it works out.

Old Spice Guy will be remembered FOREVER, both for setting the standards for social media campaigns, and for the words "I must ride my jetski lion into the sunset." Genius; it made my week.

I've haven't seen the Iceland campaign yet, but interesting idea. Iceland got hit hard in the recent credit crisis, I think the country actually went bankrupt or something similar (didn't actually realise that could happen to a country!). Maybe, like many, many businesses who are having serious financial issues, the money trouble is bringing out their creative side. Hope it works for them!

A.Y., I would first sign up for Google Analytics. Analytics will give you a better idea of how your users are acting. How often they automatically bounce from the page given certain sources, how much time they're spending on page, and what they click on most. That's an awesome first place to start and should be a must for any serious webmaster.

"understand browsing tendencies" See now that's a real piece of new information. It never even occured to me to think of browsing tendencies in any way shape or form. I feel like the stupid boyfriend who orders a burger during a V8 commercial :P Do you have tips on how to go about this?

Ha, glad to hear that. I love digging through the web. There's plenty of goodness out there, not just within our own little networks! Thanks for the comment Mark!

You never cease to send me on wild internet tangents that last for click upon click upon click! This was so interesting and had so many different types of marketing. Not only informing, but a fun read!
